Facial Thirds
Dividing the face into upper, middle, and lower thirds; balanced thirds are a classic marker of harmonious proportion.
The face is traditionally split into three vertical thirds: hairline to brow, brow to base of nose, and base of nose to chin. Roughly equal thirds are read as harmonious. A very long lower third can look horsey; a short lower third can look compressed.
Horizontally, the face is split into fifths (each about one eye-width). Proportion analysis matters because the brain judges attractiveness partly on how well features fit the frame — two people with identical features but different proportions can rate very differently.
